Key Findings from Florida's 2026 HVAC Local Search Study

Star rating reflects service delivery before it reflects marketing effort

Structured data is now baseline, but profile tracking tags separate the leaders

The answer depends entirely on which city you are targeting. The professional HVAC SEO Florida in Titusville report captured the top 20 Google results for HVAC contractors in 91 Florida cities on July 29, 2026. The median company in those results holds 259 reviews. The range spans from 18 in Opa Locka to 1,236 in Sarasota, which means the only benchmark worth pursuing is the one derived from your specific city's top 20.
Considerably higher than most other service categories. In 50 of the 91 cities studied, three quarters of page-one results carry a rating of 4.9 or better, and in 88 cities the floor is at least 4.8. Key West is the only market where the lowest-rated page-one company falls below 4.7. A 4.6-star average places a business below the majority of page one in virtually every Florida market.
Eleven of the twelve most accessible markets are located in Miami-Dade or Broward County. Opa Locka shows a median of 18 reviews among top results, Key West 19, Miami Beach 34, Cooper City 37, Homestead 39, and North Miami 43. The rating expectations in those cities are just as demanding as anywhere else in the state. The opportunity lies in review volume rather than quality, since the quality bar is equally high across all markets.
It is expected rather than advantageous at this point. Of the 266 ranking HVAC websites reviewed, 85% already carry LocalBusiness structured data, and in 58 cities every single ranking site had it implemented. Tampa Bay is the notable exception at 74%, making it the one region where schema alone can still differentiate a site from nearby competitors.
The full dataset, methodology, limitations, and a results table for every city measured are available in the local HVAC SEO Florida in Titusville report on l3adsolutions.com. It is one quarterly edition of the Florida Local Search Index, which tracks 12 trades across the same 91 cities.
