A Closer Look at NTI's Entry-Level Plumbing Program in Houston

What the Plumbing Curriculum Actually Teaches You

Houston Campus Details, Licensing Context, and How to Enroll

No previous experience is necessary. The Entry-Level Plumbing Technician program is specifically designed for individuals beginning from zero. NTI's curriculum covers foundational skills, essential tool use, and basic code knowledge so students are prepared to enter the trade regardless of their background.
Program length varies by format. The Traditional and Immersion formats are completable in up to 12 weeks. The Fusion format, which blends online instruction with weekly lab sessions, takes up to 16 weeks. Both represent a fraction of the time required by most traditional trade schools.
Yes. Every format — Traditional, Fusion, and Immersion — includes mandatory in-person lab sessions. A fully remote or online-only path is not available. Hands-on lab work is a non-negotiable component of the curriculum for all students regardless of the schedule they choose.
No. NTI issues a certificate of completion at graduation, not a state plumbing license. Texas plumbing licenses are granted by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and require supervised field hours accumulated on the job. NTI prepares graduates with the skill set to start earning those hours in an entry-level role.
The program covers pipe materials and fittings, plumbing math, tools and job-site safety, blueprint reading, plumbing codes, water supply systems, water heater installation and service, drain-waste-vent principles, gas piping, and general service work — all aligned to what Houston-area employers look for in new hires.
